I am in love with this writing desk, and I would love to know the maker.
When I was a child, my mother would pull the Amy Vanderbilt Etiquette book from the shelf and read to my sisters and me. This was a given each summer, as soon as school ended for the year. We would sit in our chairs, with our kool-aid or tea, and restlessly listen.
I can remember the boredom I felt as she taught us, chapter by chapter, this thing called etiquette. I will never be able to express to her how thankful I am for those boring summer afternoons. I am sure that the fruits of her labor was evident to her.

Since I began writing, and especially letter and thank you note writing, I have tried to express my thanks to everyone in the proper way. I would love to share with you the sources for the needed essentials for beautifully written thoughts.
I was able to create my own note at Papyrus stationers.
This company is a source for extensive stationery, and I have often found exactly what I am looking for.

Papyrus has cards for every occasion.
Crane has earned the name of one of the leading stationers in the world. I have been a faithful client of Crane stationery since I began writing. My children learned to write their first notes on Crane paper.
Kate Spade Christmas collection for Crane. Spade's collection is beautiful and whimsical.
The pen is crucial in proper letter and note writing. Montblanc is the pen I use, and I have never been disappointed with its performance. I love using the fountain pen with blue ink. When I was being taught how to write, we used fountain pens, so this is a little nostalgic for me. There is a Montblanc pen for every writers' needs.

I enjoy using my wax stamp sealer, along with the wax, that I purchased at the Crane store in Atlanta, but I cannot find them on their website. I found some lovely sealers on Nostalgic Expressions, but was unable to copy a photograph for you. The wax seal adds so much to a note.

This etiquette book is close to my heart because my mother read from Amy Vanderbilt's book. This book can be found at Barnes and Noble, and through many smaller bookstores.
Emily Post has published a 2009 edition and it can be found at Books-A-Million, and many other smaller bookstores.
This has been one of my favorite posts because I have a deep fondness for writing, and I have taught my children what I know. There are many other sources for these essentials, but the most important is the etiquette book. Without it, you are lost. I use mine more than frequently as a source on all manners.
Merry Christmas, and to my Jewish friends, Happy Hanukkah.
Teresa xoxo
