I recovered from New Years Eve in St. Charles, IL, at my friends' mom's amaaaaaaazing mid-century home and it was quite possibly the best part of my whole winter break.
it had floor-to-ceiling windows that overlooked a creek (and deer!), shaggy carpeting that begged for everyone to lie on their stomachs and play Write Your Own Pictionary, a fireplace that was constantly kept a'roaring, stools at the kitchen bar that invited everyone to hang out while we made pizzas and drank 4Loko. and most of all it had a whole bunch of my friends, hangin' out and being awesome. it was great.
we joked about starting a commune and the more I think about it, the more I'm super into that idea. let's just buy a rad vacation compound and all go live there. in fact, I think I've found the place of my dreams at Lej da Staz in Switzerland.
this. place. is. amazing. and it'd be more amazing if it was filled with my friends...they are such a huge reason why I love Chicago and I'm super thankful for them. I'm so lucky that we're all around to support and take care of each other whenever someone needs anything, big or small. this Friday post is for all of my friends. love you guys.
